It's a Good Day

So this is that beautiful yet relaxed sweater you throw on with your favorite tee and denim, oh I don't know, 5 or 6 days of the week at some point in each day?! I'd even wear it with pajamas on a Sunday Morning when I'm treating myself to a croissant & cappuccino.  Talk about price per wear, if your brain operates like a spreadsheet at all, OR you love the ease of hanging something on the door that you want to grab on the daily, here it is love.  My sister keeps a couple of these types of cardigans handy and on rotation, and they NEVER get old.  Kali, fashion blogger in spades, maintains the most elevated style without compromise and chose this to cozy up for Autumn. Follow her on insta for FIERCE fashion inspiration. Let us know ASAP if you are in need (or desire) of one, I believe they will go quickly.
So my story today is about a new car I've leased and the experience around "buying".  Since my first car buying experience I've considered selling cars. Very few women are doing this.  For now, I'm sticking to sweaters and enjoying the process of leasing every 3 years:)
So I text my guy, Moises.  Then I go in and meet Barry, and then I start price comparing their best offers.  BMW and Lincoln are my top contenders.  I make a list of my desires: black with chrome, 'cause I'm fancy, responsive performance, because I'm a driver, safety because of my littles, and because I care about the earth I cannot be driving a big gas guzzler, although I drive very little. Finally there is budget, this is a big one for me.  I decide my budget first and ask them to work with me.  This is the fun part:) This makes Volvo no longer an option.  Their cars are so lovely and popular they aren't budging on budget, I say good for you and have a good day.
Subaru, LOVE the Subarus, but they didn't perform for me.
Lincoln, customer service is out of this world and I like the car, It's American, which is a bonus for my Grandmother who built cars on the line in Michigan, and Barry, oh Barry.  He had my car washed while I test drove his.  Above n Beyond. They bring you a car while they take your car to be serviced, you don't have to leave your house.  They will even drive you around in your car if you need chauffeur service, which, who doesn't?!  I uber more than necessary because I've ALWAYS wanted a chauffeur. And then there is BMW, it is the ultimate driving machine. They have my heart and my current lease so they make leaving them expensive. Oh yes, its a lot like dating:)
So I text and I text and I go in and I test drive (with a girlfriend which makes it SO MUCH more fun) and I hear their sales pitches, and ultimately I drive my favorite car: The X1, but I also really like the MKC.  So now I care more about getting the car then just getting my price.  Slight issue when negotiating down a price but I affirm on a daily basis.  I will get the perfect car for the perfect price on the perfect day.  I ultimately dance around with Barry and Moises and any dealers that carry their same cars to see whats the best deal I can get within a 50 mile radius.  I accidentally add to my desires the panoramic sunroof.  Of course this only comes on the premium models, so price goes up while I ask them to come down.  I wait them out, it's the end of the month, and one of my favorite moments in this process is the morning where every person I had been working with at all the dealers texted me within 30 minutes of each other.  I smiled and said to myself, may the best man win. GAME ON. Ha ha
Ultimately I got VERY close to what I wanted to spend and LOVE driving the car I'm in. It's black with chrome AND a panoramic sunroof. It's safer than others in its class and relatively good gas mileage.  It's fast AND responsive, basically a momma boss sport car with room for a stroller:) It's perfect for the Sterling Family and I couldn't be happier.
Perfect car, on the perfect day, for the perfect price.
I had to share, and am now inspired to create a little Cecelia's Guide to Buying a Car and add it to my list of how to do things your own way, ENJOY the process, and get what you want. If you are car shopping, let me know. I'd be happy to share with you my favorite sales associates.
Happy Wednesday!
xoxo, Cecelia
